FAQ

Why should I invest in a Wedding Photographer?

Long after the florals, food, décor and mad dance moves have gone. Photographs are the only tangible thing you will have to look back on and relive all those emotions you felt on one of the best days of your life. That is why it is so important to invest in a skilled photographer who is able to document your day that you have planned and put so much effort into to look back on for decades to come.

My aim with my galleries, is to provide you with a way to showcase your unique day and story for generations to come and feel as if you were living it all over again through the power of photography.

What is your Style?

I have a very relaxed and candid style of photography. I love unscripted moments the most.

Having my clients trust my creativity and style to deliver them a beautiful gallery is one of the most rewarding things about my job.

As well as all of the key events of your day, I also capture lots of special moments going on around you that encapsulate the love surrounding you and your partner on one of the most special days of your life. I prefer to let you live your special day in peace and simply capture it for you, not direct it.

That being said, I take control when I need to and give you some light direction for your newlywed portraits to show you how to stand and where I think will look the best but nothing crazy, you might even enjoy it!
Same for family portrait's , This can sometimes be like herding cats, lol! So organisation is key here, but other than those, the rest of your album will be natural.

We hate having our photos taken and feel awkward, what can we expect?

The majority of couples I work with feel the exact same way as you. I don't think many people particularly like having their photo taken, myself included.
Making couples feel comfortable is my superpower. I see it as a bit of a challenge and I have yet to meet anyone who didn't enjoy the experience. Oftentimes, couple portraits also provide a brief moment of pause amongst the chaos to spend some precious time as newlywed's.

I always meet you either face to face if possible or via zoom to introduce myself before the big day. This helps a lot and reduces a lot of awkwardness.
Although my style is very laid back, for your couple photos, I will always tell you what to expect and not leave you without any direction feeling awkward or not knowing what to do. Most of your images will be fun prompts or movement based images and I will always check in with how you are feeling too.

Try not to overthink this part of your day too much. There is SO much to enjoy. Let me take care of you during your couple photos and the only thing you two need to do is have fun!

How many images will I get?

This one is impossible to answer because every couple is unique and every wedding day is SO different.
While I am happy to provide an estimate I never give an exact number. Rather I will provide you with a beautiful gallery full of carefully selected and edited images that focus on quality rather than quantity.

Can I have a bespoke quote?

Yes of course. I understand that one size does not fit all and we are venturing further away from traditional weddings coming into the 2025/2026 season and I am absolutely here for it.

If you have something a bit different in mind, I would love to hear about it.

What happen's if you are unable to make it?

Very good question, and one you should ask all of your suppliers.
For this to happen something would need to be seriously wrong and I take every precaution to ensure this never happens. However... We are all human and life happens to the best of us and sometimes events may occur out with our control. This is why I have a great network of photographers I regularly work and network with. This means I am part of a wonderful community that are able to call on each other for help should the need arise.
If I am unable to attend, In the first instance, I will give you as much notice as I possibly can and also take on the responsibility of arranging another talented photographer to attend in my place. I would then edit your gallery in my style that you loved upon booking. This means there is no additional tasks demanded of an already, likely very busy, couple to then find an alternative solution at such short notice.

What happens if your equipment malfunctions?

Every photographers WORST nightmare!

This is a valid concern because as much as we take care of our gear like our own children! Technology is just that , Technology (insert eye roll here)
There is always a very small chance of something malfunctioning. All we can do as professionals is take as many steps as possible to minimise any risk of this happening. Especially for irreplicable events and memories such as a wedding.

Personally, I am continuously investing in new and better gear to provide the best service I possibly can to each of my clients. As my business continues to grow this will always be the case.
As well as shooting on two camera bodies on the day with a third in my bag "just in case" , I back all of my images up several times on two SD cards, My laptop and two further external hard drives.

So your images should be retrievable should one corrupt or decide to take on a life of it's own.

What do you wear to photograph a wedding?

A recent client asked me this due to a bad past experience and I thought it would be good to add this to the FAQs as it is something some people may be uncomfortable asking.

Every photographer is different in their approach. Some wear their own branded clothing or some in black tie attire.

I will always attend a wedding dressed nicely and professionally but not dressed as a guest and nothing that will stand out or distract from the wedding during the ceremony.

Generally for a wedding I will wear a black dress or black trousers and blouse style top and always comfortable footwear due to the long hours and running around that is entailed in the job.
