The majority of couples I work with feel the exact same way as you (including me). I don't think many people particularly like having their photo taken and that is absolutely normal.

Making couples feel comfortable is my superpower. I see it as a bit of a challenge and I have yet to meet anyone who didn't enjoy the experience afterwards. Oftentimes, couple portraits also provide a brief moment of pause amongst the chaos to spend some precious time as newlywed's.

I always meet you either face to face if possible or via zoom to introduce myself before the big day. This helps a lot and reduces a lot of awkwardness too.

Although my style is very laid back, for your couple photos, I will always tell you what to expect and not leave you without any direction feeling awkward or not knowing what to do. Most of your images will be fun prompts or movement based images but I will always check in with how you are feeling too and go at your pace.

Try not to overthink this part of your day too much. There is SO much to enjoy. Let me take care of you during your couple photos and the only thing you two need to do is have fun!

I have a very relaxed and primarily candid & documentary style of photography. I love unscripted moments the most.

That being said, I take control when I need to and give you some gentle direction for your newlywed portraits to show you how to stand and where I think will look the best but nothing crazy, you might even enjoy it!

Same for family portrait's , This can sometimes be like herding cats, lol! So organisation is key here, but other than those, the rest of your album will be natural.

Need one? No (you don't "need" anything for your wedding - except someone to marry you of course!)

This can also be very beneficial for larger weddings of 60+ guests when I can only be in one place at once : for example:

I am capture Family Formals - She captures special moments of your guests who haven't seen each other in the longest time greeting each other during cocktail hour.

I cover the top table during speeches - she captures your cousin bursting out laughing during the not so appropriate comment the best man said in his speech.

While I am absolutely able to capture all they key moments of your day plus plenty of candid's and reactions working alone, with a large guest count, nothing compares to having an extra angle or two on one of the only occasions everyone you love will be in the same room.

If it is within your budget- I promise you will value it more in the long run than bathroom baskets & Flip flops.

Yes, yes & yes! I have been so lucky to have photographed weddings in some beautiful places in Scotland. I am always happy to travel for a wedding anywhere in including the highlands & islands of Scotland and the North of England.

My packages include travel within a 3 hour round trip of EH30 - Any further than this would incur fuel & possibly accommodation costs depending on the coverage booked. All costs would be communicated up front and that would be the final price. I only charge enough to cover my expenses eg fuel& accomodation etc I don't add on any costs for travel time.

This is a valid concern because as much as we take care of our gear like our own children! Technology is just that , Technology (insert eye roll here)

There is always a very small chance of something malfunctioning. All we can do as professionals is take as many steps as possible to minimise any risk of this happening. Especially for a wedding which simply cannot be redone.

Personally, I am continuously investing in new and better gear to provide the best service I possibly can to each of my clients. As my business continues to grow this will always be the case.

As well as shooting on two camera bodies on the day with a third in my bag "just in case" , They both have dual card slots so if one should corrupt ,there is a back up. I back all of my images up as soon as I am home onto three separate( high quality - this is important) Hard Drives.

So your images should be retrievable should one corrupt or decide to take on a life of its own.

It is so important to ask your photographer what their process is and what backup they have in place when doing your research.

Gallery delivery times during wedding season - April-November- is between 8-10 weeks. 15-20 Previews delivered within 48hrs.

I don't outsource any galleries as I take too much pride in the work I produce and believe you deserve to know where your images are. You booked me for my style and that is what you get.

No. of Images - This one is impossible to answer because every couple is unique and every wedding day is SO different.

While I am happy to provide an estimate I never give an exact number. I will provide you with a beautiful gallery full of carefully selected and edited images that focus on quality rather than quantity. To me, the perfect image that makes the cut is one that shows the feeling and joy of the day. Maybe it’s your best friend ugly crying, maybe it’s your child running about daft- Yes it may not be aesthetically the perfect composition or lighting in these fleeting moment’s, but these are the moments that matter most. So I will include all images I know you will value of you and your special guests.

500+ Images can be expected as a minimum for full day coverage

Very good question, and one you should ask all of your suppliers.

For this to happen something would need to be seriously wrong and I take every precaution to ensure this never happens. However... We are all human and life happens to the best of us and sometimes events may occur out with our control. This is why I have an absolutely brilliant small network of photographers I regularly work and network with and we help each other out if needed. .This means I am part of a wonderful wee community that I am able to call on each other for help should the need arise and for that I am so grateful.

If I am unable to attend, In the first instance, I will give you as much notice as I possibly can and also take on the responsibility of arranging one of my trusted photographers to attend in my place. They are not only similar in personality and style but just all round fantastic human beings and friends now too. I would then edit your gallery in my style that you loved upon booking. This means there is no additional tasks demanded of an already, likely very busy, couple to then find an alternative solution at such short notice. However if you choose to take this route that is also ok and can be discussed.

If you have booked a package that includes one of the above - you are in for a treat.

Personally, I am a massive believer in old school physical photographs or albums you can actually hold and feel. Your gallery quite literally comes to life on good paper.

We live in a digital world now but what happens if you lose your USB/laptop breaks or lose a hard drive ten years down the line?
